What Should You Blog About? 5 Tips to Identify Your Niche

Contrary to popular opinion, you don’t have to have an ivy league education, or initials behind your name to be considered an “expert” at something.
Everybody has a strength, sometimes referred to as a niche.

A niche is simply a talent or skill that distinguishes you from the crowd, and serves as an area of specialization in terms of marketing.
It doesn’t have to necessarily be something for which you’ve been formally trained, though it can be.

According to noted author and motivational speaker, Deepak Chopra,

“You have a unique talent and a unique way of expressing it. There is something that you can do better than anyone else in the world.”

For example, Hope Clark, the creator of Funds for Writers, is synonymous with grants and financial resources for writers.

Oprah is famous for her “gift for gab,” while Martha Stewart has created a multi-million dollar empire as a domestic diva.

These serve as “niche” areas for these women.

How about you? What passion ignites your soul?

HERE ARE 5 KEY QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER

IN ASSESSING YOURS...

What pursuit gives you the greatest pleasure?

Does it come naturally to you?

Do you enjoy it so much, that if you could, you’d do it everyday for free?

What pursuit(s) or skills do others compliment you on the most?
Have you ever won an award or been paid for this skill?

These guiding questions, along with some self inventory, will start you on the path to recognizing your niche and turning your know-how into “net worth!”
